Pakistan offers a rich cultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes, making it an appealing destination for travelers. Its tourism infrastructure is developing, with around 3,000 hotels available on TripAdvisor, indicating an increasing ability to host various visitors. With 20.3 million Chinese citizens traveling abroad annually, there is potential interest among some of them in exploring Pakistan.
Pakistan's safety for tourists, including those from China, is a concern based on various safety indices. According to the Global Peace Index, Pakistan ranks 138th out of 160 countries, significantly lower than China's 87th position. The murder rate in Pakistan is notably higher at 4.0 per 100,000 people compared to China's 0.5. Additionally, the Global Organized Crime Index indicates that while both countries face organized crime challenges, Pakistan scores lower in several areas, including human trafficking (8.0) and arms trafficking (8.0), compared to China's scores of 6.5 and 2.5, respectively. Overall, while tourism is possible in Pakistan, travelers should remain vigilant and informed about safety conditions.
