Norway is an appealing destination for some Ukrainian travelers, thanks to its stunning fjords and rugged landscapes that offer a unique natural experience. With a thriving tourism industry attracting over a million foreign visitors annually, it could attract a portion of the 11 million Ukrainians who travel abroad each year.
Norway is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Ukraine. According to the Global Peace Index, Norway ranks 28th out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of safety, especially when compared to Ukraine, which ranks 156th. In terms of crime statistics, Norway has a significantly lower murder rate of 0.5 per 100,000 people, compared to Ukraine's 3.8. Additionally, Norway performs better across various organized crime indices, with lower scores indicating less prevalence of issues such as mafia groups, crime networks, and human trafficking. While Norway ranks 18th among 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night, it is important to note that there is no specific data available for Ukraine in this context. Overall, tourists from Ukraine can expect a safer environment in Norway relative to their home country.
