Norway offers a captivating experience for travelers, featuring stunning fjords and dramatic landscapes that appeal to nature enthusiasts. With a thriving tourism sector that welcomes over a million international visitors each year, it presents a compelling option for some of the 10.6 million Brazilians who travel abroad annually.
Norway is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Brazil. According to the Global Peace Index, Norway ranks 28th out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of safety, especially compared to Brazil, which ranks 129th. In terms of crime statistics, Norway has a significantly lower murder rate of 0.5 per 100,000 people, compared to Brazil's 22.5. Additionally, Norway scores better on organized crime indices, with lower ratings in areas such as mafia presence, crime networks, and state crime. While Norway is ranked 18th among 40 European countries for safety when walking alone at night, it is important for travelers to remain vigilant as they would in any destination. Overall, tourists from Brazil can feel relatively safe while visiting Norway.
