The Netherlands is an appealing destination for visitors from Qatar, known for its picturesque canals, tulip fields, windmills, and historic cities. Its combination of urban sophistication and rustic charm attracts millions of tourists annually, making it an interesting option for a segment of Qatar's 3 million population.
The Netherlands is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Qatar. It ranks 9th out of 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night. According to the Global Peace Index, the Netherlands is the 18th safest country globally, compared to Qatar's 29th position. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in the Netherlands is 0.7 per 100,000 people, slightly higher than Qatar's rate of 0.3. However, the Netherlands has lower female murder rates (0.4) compared to Qatar (0.5). Regarding organized crime, Qatar scores better in several categories, such as mafia groups and human trafficking. However, the Netherlands performs better in state crime and flora crime indices. Overall, while both countries have their safety concerns, the Netherlands is regarded as a safe place for tourists.
