Nigeria is a vibrant and diverse nation with a rich cultural heritage and beautiful natural landscapes. However, it currently attracts a moderate number of tourists. It may appeal to a segment of Qatar's population of approximately 3 million, but overall, its attractiveness as a travel destination remains limited.
Nigeria is generally considered less safe for tourists compared to Qatar. According to the Global Peace Index, Nigeria ranks 144th out of 160 countries, while Qatar ranks 29th. The murder rate in Nigeria is significantly higher at 22.0 per 100,000 people, compared to Qatar's 0.3. Additionally, the Global Organized Crime Index indicates that Nigeria has higher levels of organized crime, with indices showing more severe issues in areas such as crime networks (Nigeria: 9.0 vs. Qatar: 6.0) and state crime (Nigeria: 7.5 vs. Qatar: 6.0). Overall, tourists from Qatar should exercise caution when considering travel to Nigeria due to these safety concerns.
