Nigeria is a vibrant and diverse nation that offers a rich cultural experience and beautiful natural landscapes. However, it currently attracts a moderate number of tourists. It could appeal to a segment of Guinea's population of 14 million, making it a potentially interesting destination for some visitors.
Nigeria presents certain safety concerns for tourists, particularly when compared to Guinea. According to the Global Peace Index, Nigeria ranks 144th out of 160 countries, indicating lower safety levels than Guinea, which ranks 122nd. In terms of crime statistics, Nigeria has a murder rate of 22.0 per 100,000 people. The Global Organized Crime Index further highlights various crime issues, with Nigeria scoring higher in several categories, such as mafia groups (5.5), crime networks (9.0), and human trafficking (7.5), compared to Guinea's lower scores in these areas. Overall, tourists from Guinea should be aware of these safety statistics and exercise caution when traveling to Nigeria.
