Mexico offers a rich cultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes, making it an appealing destination for international tourists. Its diverse tourism sector caters to various traveler preferences, solidifying its status as a prominent global tourist hotspot. While it may attract a segment of Vietnam's 98 million population, interest levels may vary among individuals.
Mexico's safety for tourists, including those from Vietnam, is a concern. According to the Global Peace Index, Mexico ranks 136th out of 160 countries, significantly lower than Vietnam, which ranks 41st. The murder rate in Mexico is notably higher at 28.2 per 100,000 people, compared to Vietnam's 1.5. Additionally, the Global Organized Crime Index indicates that Mexico faces severe challenges with organized crime, scoring 9.0 for mafia groups and crime networks, while Vietnam scores better at 6.0 and 7.0, respectively. Other crime-related indices also show Mexico struggling with issues like human trafficking and drug trade. Overall, while many tourists visit Mexico safely, it is essential for travelers from Vietnam to stay informed and take precautions.
