Mauritius is an appealing destination for some Jordanian travelers, thanks to its beautiful beaches, lush scenery, and rich culture. With around 800,000 Jordanians traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Mauritius an attractive option for leisure and adventure.
Mauritius is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Jordan. According to the Global Peace Index, Mauritius ranks 22nd out of 160 countries, indicating a higher level of safety compared to Jordan, which ranks 65th. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Mauritius is 2.6 per 100,000 people, while Jordan has a lower rate of 1.0. However, when looking at organized crime indices, Mauritius scores slightly worse in some areas, such as the heroin and synthetic drug trade, but remains safer overall in terms of violent crime. Overall, tourists from Jordan can expect a relatively safe experience in Mauritius, though it's always advisable to exercise general safety precautions while traveling.
