Malta offers a unique blend of history, culture, and modern tourism, making it an appealing destination for some Vietnamese travelers. Its strategic Mediterranean location and diverse historical sites attract around one million international visitors annually, suggesting it could attract a segment of Vietnam's 98 million population.
Malta is generally considered safe for tourists, including those from Vietnam. It ranks 26th out of 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night. In terms of homicide rates, Malta has a significantly lower murder rate of 0.4 per 100,000 people compared to Vietnam's 1.5. According to the Global Organized Crime Index, Malta scores better in several categories, such as mafia influence (Malta: 1.5 vs. Vietnam: 6.0) and arms trafficking (Malta: 2.5 vs. Vietnam: 4.0). However, both countries have similar scores in crime networks and state crime. Overall, while crime exists in both countries, Malta offers a safer environment for tourists compared to Vietnam based on these statistics.
