Mongolia offers a unique blend of ancient traditions and stunning landscapes, making it an appealing destination for some visitors from North Macedonia. While its tourism infrastructure is still developing, it attracts those seeking authentic and rare experiences. A segment of the 2 million Macedonians may find Mongolia particularly interesting.
Mongolia is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from North Macedonia. According to the Global Peace Index, Mongolia ranks 44th out of 160 countries, indicating a relatively safe environment, although it is less safe compared to North Macedonia, which ranks 38th. In terms of crime statistics, North Macedonia has a lower murder rate of 1.2 per 100,000 people, while Mongolia's rate is higher at 6.2. Additionally, North Macedonia shows lower rates of female murders (0.4) compared to Mongolia (2.5). When examining organized crime, North Macedonia generally has better scores than Mongolia across various categories, such as mafia groups and human trafficking. However, Mongolia's crime indices indicate some challenges, particularly in areas like drug trade. Overall, while Mongolia is considered safe, tourists should remain vigilant and informed about local conditions, as crime rates and safety levels can vary.
