Morocco is an appealing destination for some Saudi visitors due to its rich cultural heritage, historical cities, and stunning landscapes. With 4.8 million Saudis traveling internationally each year, a portion may be inclined to explore what Morocco has to offer.
Morocco is generally considered a relatively safe destination for tourists, including those from Saudi Arabia. According to the Global Peace Index, Morocco ranks 76th out of 160 countries, which is better than Saudi Arabia's ranking of 100th. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Morocco is 1.9 per 100,000 people, compared to Saudi Arabia's 0.8. However, the rates for female murders are also slightly higher in Morocco at 0.5 compared to 0.3 in Saudi Arabia. The Global Organized Crime Index indicates that Morocco has lower scores in several categories related to organized crime compared to Saudi Arabia. For instance, Morocco scores 3.0 for arms trafficking and 3.0 for resource crime, while Saudi Arabia scores 8.0 and 7.0 respectively. Overall, while there are some crime concerns, Morocco is considered safer than Saudi Arabia in several aspects, making it a viable option for tourists.
