Morocco is an appealing destination for some Bahraini travelers, offering a unique blend of vibrant culture, historical cities, and stunning landscapes. With around 500,000 Bahrainis traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Morocco's rich heritage and charm particularly attractive.
Morocco is considered relatively safe for tourists, including those from Bahrain. According to the Global Peace Index, Morocco ranks 76th out of 160 countries, while Bahrain is slightly lower at 79th. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Morocco is 1.9 per 100,000 people, compared to Bahrain's very low rate of 0.1. When examining organized crime, both countries score similarly on mafia presence (1.0), but Morocco has higher scores in areas like crime networks (6.5) and state crime (7.0). However, Morocco shows lower scores for arms trafficking (3.0) and resource crime (3.0), indicating some areas of relative safety. Overall, while Morocco has some crime challenges, it remains a popular destination for tourists and is comparable to Bahrain in terms of overall safety.
