Luxembourg is becoming increasingly appealing to tourists, including those from North Macedonia, due to its unique combination of modern amenities and historical attractions. While it may attract only a segment of the 2 million Macedonians, its developing tourism infrastructure and vibrant culture make it a noteworthy destination.
Luxembourg is generally safe for tourists, but it ranks 27th out of 40 countries for safety while walking alone at night, which is lower than North Macedonia's ranking of 17th. According to the Global Peace Index, North Macedonia is ranked 38th among 160 countries, while there is no specific ranking for Luxembourg. In terms of murder rates, Luxembourg has a lower rate at 0.6 per 100,000 people compared to North Macedonia's 1.2. Additionally, Luxembourg scores better in organized crime indices, indicating lower levels of mafia influence and crime networks. Overall, while Luxembourg is a safe destination, tourists from North Macedonia may find it slightly less safe for nighttime activities compared to their home country.
