Luxembourg is becoming an increasingly appealing destination for Swiss visitors, thanks to its well-developed tourism infrastructure and a unique mix of modern amenities and historical attractions. With 6.1 million Swiss traveling abroad annually, a portion of these travelers may find Luxembourg an interesting choice for their trips.
Luxembourg is generally safe for tourists, but it is ranked 27th out of 40 countries for safety while walking alone at night, compared to Switzerland's higher rank of 7th. The murder rates are similar, with Switzerland at 0.5 per 100,000 people and Luxembourg at 0.6. However, Luxembourg has a lower incidence of female murders, recorded at 0.0. In terms of organized crime, Luxembourg scores better than Switzerland in several categories, such as mafia groups and crime networks, indicating a lower level of organized crime activity. Overall, while Luxembourg may not be as safe as Switzerland, it remains a relatively safe destination for tourists.
