Lithuania presents a unique appeal for some travelers from Nepal. While it may not attract the same volume of tourists as larger European destinations, it offers a diverse range of attractions that could interest a segment of the 1.2 million Nepalese who travel abroad annually.
Lithuania is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Nepal. It ranks 24th among 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night. According to the Global Peace Index, Lithuania is ranked 31st out of 160 countries, indicating a higher level of safety compared to Nepal, which ranks 78th. In terms of crime statistics, Lithuania has a murder rate of 2.6 per 100,000 people, slightly higher than Nepal's rate of 2.1. However, Lithuania has lower indices for organized crime, with better ratings in categories such as mafia groups and human trafficking compared to Nepal. Overall, while no destination is without risk, Lithuania offers a relatively safe environment for tourists.
