Lithuania is an appealing destination for some segments of the 171 million people in Bangladesh. Located in the Baltic region, it offers a unique mix of attractions that cater to diverse international visitors, even if it doesn't attract the same volume of tourists as larger European countries.
Lithuania is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Bangladesh. It ranks 24th out of 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night. According to the Global Peace Index, Lithuania is ranked 31st out of 160 countries, indicating a higher level of safety compared to Bangladesh, which ranks 91st. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rates are similar, with Lithuania at 2.6 per 100,000 people and Bangladesh at 2.4. However, Lithuania has a lower female murder rate at 1.5. The Global Organized Crime Index shows that Lithuania has lower scores in various crime categories compared to Bangladesh, suggesting a more organized and less violent crime environment. For example, Lithuania scores 3.5 for mafia groups and 2.5 for arms trafficking, while Bangladesh scores 5.5 and 5.0, respectively. Overall, tourists from Bangladesh can feel relatively safe when visiting Lithuania, although, as with any travel, it's advisable to stay aware of one's surroundings and take standard safety precautions.
