Saint Lucia offers a diverse array of cultural and natural attractions, making it an appealing destination for some German travelers. With 99.5 million Germans traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Saint Lucia an interesting choice for their vacations.
Saint Lucia presents a mixed safety profile for tourists, including those from Germany. While Germany ranks 20th globally in safety, Saint Lucia has a significantly higher murder rate of 39.0 per 100,000 people compared to Germany's 0.8. This statistic highlights potential safety concerns. In terms of organized crime, both countries have similar mafia group indices (5.0), but Saint Lucia has lower scores in various crime categories, indicating a different crime landscape. Notably, Saint Lucia has a lower index for human trafficking (4.0) and human smuggling (1.5), which suggests some areas of relative safety. Overall, while Saint Lucia can be a beautiful destination, tourists should remain vigilant and informed about their surroundings due to the higher crime rates compared to Germany.
