Lebanon offers a unique blend of cultural heritage, beautiful landscapes, and modern attractions, making it an appealing travel destination. Despite recent changes in tourist numbers, the country's historical significance and lively social scene continue to attract international visitors. Given that 11 million Ukrainians travel abroad annually, a portion may find Lebanon an intriguing option.
Lebanon's safety for tourists from Ukraine can be assessed through various crime and safety indices. According to the Global Peace Index, Lebanon ranks 132nd out of 160 countries, which is better than Ukraine's ranking of 156th. In terms of murder rates, Lebanon has a lower rate at 1.9 per 100,000 people compared to Ukraine's 3.8. When looking at organized crime indices, both countries score similarly on mafia groups (6.0) and crime networks (7.0), but Lebanon has a higher score for state crime (9.5) and foreign crime (8.0), indicating more challenges in these areas. Overall, while Lebanon has some safety concerns, particularly regarding organized crime, it is statistically safer than Ukraine based on murder rates and certain crime indices. Tourists should remain vigilant and informed about local conditions when visiting Lebanon.
