Lebanon offers a unique blend of rich cultural heritage, beautiful landscapes, and modern attractions, making it an appealing destination for some Peruvian travelers. With around 600,000 Peruvians traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Lebanon's historical significance and vibrant social scene particularly enticing.
Lebanon's safety for tourists, including those from Peru, is a concern as it is ranked 132nd out of 160 countries on the Global Peace Index, compared to Peru's 97th position. While Lebanon has a lower murder rate of 1.9 per 100,000 people compared to Peru's 5.7, the overall crime environment is more challenging in Lebanon. The Global Organized Crime Index indicates that both countries have similar scores for mafia groups (6.0), but Lebanon scores worse in several areas, including state crime (9.5) and foreign crime (8.0). Tourists should exercise caution and stay informed about local conditions when considering travel to Lebanon.
