Kuwait offers a distinctive tourism experience, characterized by its strategic location at the tip of the Persian Gulf and a blend of cultural and luxury attractions. Although it attracts fewer foreign tourists than neighboring countries, it stands out due to high spending per visitor, indicating a preference for upscale experiences. Given that around 800,000 Jordanians travel abroad annually, a segment of this population may find Kuwait appealing as a travel destination.
Kuwait is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those coming from Jordan. According to the Global Peace Index, Kuwait ranks 25th out of 160 countries, indicating a higher level of safety compared to Jordan, which ranks 65th. In terms of crime statistics, Kuwait has a lower murder rate of 0.3 per 100,000 people, compared to Jordan's 1.0. However, it's worth noting that the female murder rate in Kuwait is higher at 1.1 compared to Jordan's 0.6. The Global Organized Crime Index also shows that Kuwait has a better score in areas such as mafia presence and foreign crime, with lower indices (1.0 for mafia groups in Kuwait versus 1.5 in Jordan). However, some areas like human trafficking and resource crime have higher scores in Kuwait. Overall, while both countries have their challenges, Kuwait is statistically safer for tourists than Jordan.
