Kenya is an appealing destination for some visitors from Botswana, offering a rich mix of natural beauty and cultural experiences. With nearly 3,000 accommodations available, it provides a variety of lodging options to suit different preferences. Despite recent variations in tourist numbers, its vast savannahs and exotic wildlife continue to attract a segment of the 3 million people in Botswana.
Kenya's safety for tourists coming from Botswana can be assessed through various crime statistics. According to the Global Peace Index, Kenya ranks 120th out of 160 countries, indicating a lower safety level compared to Botswana, which ranks 49th. In terms of murder rates, Botswana has a higher rate at 10.5 per 100,000 people, while Kenya's rate is 5.3. However, when looking at organized crime, Botswana scores significantly better across various categories, such as mafia presence (Botswana 1.0 vs. Kenya 7.0) and state crime (Botswana 3.0 vs. Kenya 8.0). Overall, while Kenya has a lower murder rate, the higher indices for organized crime suggest that tourists should remain cautious and informed when visiting.
