Jordan's stunning landscapes and rich history make it an appealing destination for international tourists. With its iconic sites like Petra and the Dead Sea, it could attract a segment of the 11 million Ukrainians who travel abroad annually.
Jordan is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Ukraine. According to the Global Peace Index, Jordan ranks 65th out of 160 countries, significantly safer than Ukraine, which ranks 156th. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Jordan is notably lower at 1.0 per 100,000 people, compared to Ukraine's 3.8. Additionally, female murder rates are also lower in Jordan (0.6) than in Ukraine (1.9). The Global Organized Crime Index further illustrates the relative safety, with Jordan scoring better in several categories: mafia groups (Jordan 1.5 vs. Ukraine 6.0), state crime (Jordan 6.5 vs. Ukraine 8.0), and resource crime (Jordan 1.5 vs. Ukraine 7.0). While no country is without risks, the overall data suggests that Jordan is a safer choice for tourists compared to Ukraine.
