Italy is an appealing destination for many Tunisian visitors due to its rich history, culture, and iconic cities like Rome, Venice, and Florence. With around 700,000 Tunisians traveling abroad annually, a portion of them is likely to be interested in exploring Italy.
Italy is generally considered safe for tourists, including those coming from Tunisia. According to the Global Peace Index, Italy ranks 33rd out of 160 countries, indicating a relatively high level of safety compared to Tunisia, which ranks 72nd. In terms of crime statistics, Italy has a significantly lower murder rate of 0.5 per 100,000 people, compared to Tunisia's 4.8. Additionally, Italy's safety ranking for walking alone at night is 34th among 40 European countries, while specific data for Tunisia is not available. While Italy does face challenges with organized crime, as indicated by its higher scores on the Global Organized Crime Index, the overall crime rates and safety perceptions suggest that tourists from Tunisia can travel to Italy with a reasonable expectation of safety.
