India offers a rich blend of cultural heritage, natural beauty, and modern amenities, making it an appealing destination for travelers. With around 300,000 Swazis traveling abroad annually, a portion may find India particularly interesting for its historic landmarks and diverse ecosystems.
India's safety for tourists from Eswatini can be assessed through various crime statistics. According to the Global Peace Index, India ranks 114th out of 160 countries, while Eswatini is ranked 101st, indicating that Eswatini is relatively safer. In terms of murder rates, Eswatini has a higher rate at 12.7 per 100,000 people compared to India's 2.9. Female murder rates are not available for Eswatini, but India reports 2.5 per 100,000. The Global Organized Crime Index also highlights differences in crime. Eswatini scores better in several categories, including mafia groups (1.5 vs. 3.5 for India) and human trafficking (4.0 vs. 7.0 for India). However, India has lower scores in drug-related crimes like the heroin trade (6.5 vs. 3.0 for Eswatini).
