India offers a rich blend of cultural heritage, natural beauty, and modern amenities, making it an appealing destination for some of Mongolia's 3 million residents. The country's popular landmarks and diverse ecosystems attract a significant number of foreign visitors each year, highlighting its potential appeal to Mongolian travelers.
India's safety for tourists, including those from Mongolia, is a complex issue. The Global Peace Index ranks India 114th out of 160 countries, indicating a lower level of safety compared to Mongolia, which ranks 44th. In terms of murder rates, India has a lower overall rate at 2.9 per 100,000 people, compared to Mongolia's 6.2. However, both countries have the same female murder rate of 2.5. When examining organized crime, Mongolia generally fares better. For instance, the mafia group index is 2.0 for Mongolia and 3.5 for India, while crime networks score 4.5 for Mongolia and 6.0 for India. Human trafficking is notably higher in India, with a score of 7.0 compared to Mongolia's 4.5. Overall, while India has some safety concerns, it is important for tourists to stay informed and take precautions, just as they would in any country.
