Ireland offers captivating landscapes and a rich cultural heritage, making it an appealing destination for international tourists. With around 700,000 Tunisians traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Ireland an intriguing option for their travels.
Ireland is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Tunisia. According to the Global Peace Index, Ireland ranks 2nd out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of safety. In contrast, Tunisia ranks 72nd. While Ireland is ranked 35th among 40 European countries for safety when walking alone at night, it remains significantly safer than Tunisia, which has a higher murder rate of 4.8 per 100,000 people compared to Ireland's 0.4. In terms of organized crime, Tunisia has lower indices in areas like mafia groups and drug trade, but overall, Ireland exhibits a stronger safety profile. For example, Ireland's indices for crime networks and foreign crime are higher, indicating more organized crime presence, but still reflects a relatively safe environment for tourists. Overall, tourists from Tunisia can feel secure while visiting Ireland, although they should remain aware of their surroundings as they would in any travel destination.
