Ireland offers enchanting landscapes and a rich cultural experience, making it an appealing destination for international tourists. Its lush countryside, historic sites, and unique Irish culture attract millions annually. While it may appeal to a segment of Malaysia's 34 million population, interest levels will vary among individuals.
Ireland is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Malaysia. While it ranks 35th out of 40 European countries for safety when walking alone at night, it holds a high position on the Global Peace Index, being the 2nd safest country out of 160 globally, which is notably safer than Malaysia, ranked 10th. In terms of crime statistics, Ireland has a lower murder rate of 0.4 per 100,000 people compared to Malaysia's 0.7. Additionally, Ireland has a better score in various organized crime indices, particularly in state crime and human trafficking. Overall, while there are some safety concerns, Ireland is a relatively safe country for Malaysian tourists to visit.
