Ireland boasts captivating landscapes and a rich cultural heritage, making it a vibrant destination in international tourism. With its lush countryside, historic sites, and unique Irish culture, it has the potential to attract a segment of the 7.3 million Mexicans who travel abroad annually.
Ireland is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Mexico. According to the Global Peace Index, Ireland ranks 2nd out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of safety. In contrast, Mexico ranks 136th, highlighting a significant difference in safety levels. While Ireland is ranked 35th among 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night, it remains much safer than Mexico. For instance, the murder rate in Ireland is just 0.4 per 100,000 people, compared to 28.2 in Mexico. Additionally, crime indices from the Global Organized Crime Index show that Ireland scores better in various crime categories, such as organized crime and human trafficking, with Mexico scoring significantly worse in these areas. Overall, tourists from Mexico can feel relatively secure when visiting Ireland.
