Ireland is an appealing destination for Australian travelers, thanks to its stunning landscapes and rich culture. The country attracts millions of visitors annually, drawn by its lush countryside and historic sites. With around 300,000 Australians traveling abroad each year, a portion of them is likely to consider Ireland as a travel destination.
Ireland is generally considered safe for tourists, including those from Australia. According to the Global Peace Index, Ireland ranks 2nd out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of safety. In comparison, Australia ranks 19th. While Ireland is ranked 35th out of 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night, it has a lower murder rate of 0.4 per 100,000 people compared to Australia's 0.7. Additionally, various crime indices suggest that while both countries face organized crime, Ireland's overall crime rates are relatively low. In summary, tourists from Australia can feel secure visiting Ireland, as it is recognized as one of the safest countries globally.
