Indonesia offers a captivating mix of cultural heritage and natural beauty, making it an appealing destination for Bruneian travelers. With its tranquil beaches, lush jungles, and volcanic landscapes, along with vibrant cities, it attracts a segment of Brunei's population.
Indonesia is generally safe for tourists, including those from Brunei, but it is important to be aware of certain factors. According to the Global Peace Index, Indonesia ranks 47th out of 160 countries, indicating a moderate level of safety. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Indonesia is slightly higher than in Brunei, with 0.6 per 100,000 people compared to Brunei's 0.5. Additionally, the Global Organized Crime Index shows that Indonesia has higher indices for organized crime, with scores of 6.0 to 8.0 in various categories, compared to Brunei's lower scores ranging from 1.0 to 4.5. While tourists can enjoy their visit, it is advisable to stay informed about local conditions and exercise standard safety precautions.
