Greece stands out as an appealing destination for Thai travelers, thanks to its rich history, beautiful islands, and diverse landscapes. With 10.4 million Thais traveling abroad annually, a portion of these visitors may find Greece particularly enticing.
Greece is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Thailand. According to the Global Peace Index, Greece ranks 40th out of 160 countries, indicating a relatively high level of safety, especially when compared to Thailand, which ranks 73rd. In terms of crime statistics, Greece has a significantly lower murder rate at 0.9 per 100,000 people, compared to Thailand's 4.9. Additionally, Greece scores better in various organized crime indices, indicating less prevalence of issues such as human trafficking and arms trafficking. While Greece is ranked 32nd out of 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night, overall, it remains a safer option for travelers compared to Thailand. Tourists are advised to remain vigilant, as they would in any foreign country, but Greece offers a welcoming environment for visitors.
