Georgia is an appealing destination for a segment of Qatar's 3 million population, thanks to its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Despite some fluctuations in international visitor numbers, the country's charm continues to attract a diverse range of tourists.
Georgia is generally safe for tourists, but it has a higher crime rate compared to Qatar. According to the Global Peace Index, Georgia ranks 98th out of 160 countries, while Qatar is ranked 29th. The murder rate in Georgia is 1.9 per 100,000 people, compared to Qatar's very low rate of 0.3. In terms of organized crime, Qatar scores better across various indices, with lower scores indicating less crime. For example, Qatar has a mafia group index of 1.0, while Georgia's is 2.5. Other crime-related indices also show Qatar performing better in areas such as human trafficking and drug trade. While tourists can visit Georgia safely, it is advisable to remain aware of your surroundings and take standard safety precautions.
