Georgia offers a compelling mix of natural beauty and rich culture, making it an appealing destination for some Lithuanian travelers. With around 700,000 Lithuanians traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Georgia an attractive option for their travels.
Georgia is generally considered safe for tourists, including those from Lithuania, but there are some differences in safety rankings and crime statistics between the two countries. Lithuania ranks 31st in the Global Peace Index, while Georgia is 98th, indicating that Lithuania is perceived as safer overall. In terms of murder rates, Lithuania has a rate of 2.6 per 100,000 people, compared to Georgia's 1.9, suggesting that Georgia has a lower murder rate. However, organized crime indices show that both countries have their challenges, with Lithuania scoring better in most categories. While visitors to Georgia can enjoy its rich culture and hospitality, it's advisable to stay informed about local conditions and exercise standard safety precautions.
