Georgia is an appealing destination for some Belgian travelers, thanks to its natural beauty and rich culture. Although international visitor numbers have varied recently, the country's charm continues to draw interest. With 8.6 million Belgians traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Georgia an intriguing option.
Georgia is generally considered safe for tourists, but it does have some differences in safety compared to Belgium. Belgium ranks 16th in the Global Peace Index, while Georgia is 98th out of 160 countries. In terms of murder rates, Belgium has a rate of 1.1 per 100,000 people, compared to Georgia's 1.9. Additionally, the crime rates indicate that organized crime is more prevalent in Georgia, although it is not at alarming levels. While walking alone at night, Belgium is safer, ranking 39th among European countries, with no specific data available for Georgia. Overall, while tourists from Belgium can visit Georgia with relative safety, they should remain aware of their surroundings and take standard precautions.
