The United Kingdom is a diverse and historically rich destination that appeals to international tourists. Although there has been a recent decline in visitor numbers, it still attracts considerable interest, reflected in its substantial tourist revenue. For a segment of Yemen's 33 million population, the UK remains an appealing destination.
The United Kingdom is generally considered safe for tourists, including those from Yemen. According to the Global Peace Index, the UK ranks 34th out of 160 countries, indicating a relatively high level of safety compared to Yemen, which ranks 160th. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in the UK is significantly lower at 1.0 per 100,000 people, compared to Yemen's rate of 6.8. Additionally, the UK has a lower index for organized crime, with a score of 4.0 for mafia groups and 3.0 for state crime, whereas Yemen scores 8.0 and 6.0 respectively, indicating a higher prevalence of organized crime in Yemen.
