The United Kingdom is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from North Macedonia. However, it ranks 37th out of 40 countries for safety while walking alone at night, which is lower than North Macedonia's ranking of 17th. In terms of overall safety, the UK is ranked 34th out of 160 countries on the Global Peace Index, which is similar to North Macedonia's position at 38th. Regarding crime statistics, the murder rate in the UK is slightly lower than in North Macedonia (1.0 vs. 1.2 per 100,000 people).
