France is a premier tourist destination, attracting millions annually due to its vibrant and diverse offerings. While it draws a significant number of visitors, it may appeal primarily to a specific segment of Vietnam's 98 million population.
France presents a moderate level of safety for tourists coming from Vietnam. According to safety rankings, France is 40th among 40 European countries regarding safety while walking alone at night. In terms of global safety, the Global Peace Index ranks France 84th out of 160 countries, compared to Vietnam's higher position at 41st. When examining murder rates, Vietnam has a rate of 1.5 per 100,000 people, while France's is slightly lower at 1.1. For female murders, France reports a rate of 0.7, with no available data for Vietnam. In organized crime indices, both countries score similarly in several categories, with Vietnam generally having higher scores in areas like mafia groups and human trafficking. However, France has a better score in state crime. Overall, while France has certain safety concerns, it remains a popular destination for tourists, including those from Vietnam, with precautions advisable for personal safety.
