France is a top global tourism destination, attracting millions of visitors annually. While it may appeal to a segment of the 10.4 million Thais who travel abroad each year, its overall attractiveness for Thai visitors is limited compared to other popular destinations.
France is generally safe for tourists, including those from Thailand, but there are some considerations. According to safety rankings, France is 40th among 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night. In the Global Peace Index, France ranks 84th out of 160 countries, while Thailand is ranked higher at 73rd. When comparing murder rates, Thailand has a higher rate at 4.9 per 100,000 people, compared to France's 1.1. In terms of organized crime, Thailand generally scores better on various indices, indicating less organized crime activity compared to France. Overall, while France has lower murder rates, tourists should remain vigilant, especially in urban areas, as safety can vary by location.
