France is a highly attractive destination for many Senegalese visitors, thanks to its vibrant culture and diverse offerings. While it appeals to a significant portion of Senegal's 17 million population, the level of interest may vary among individuals.
France is generally safe for tourists, including those from Senegal. It ranks 40th among 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night, indicating some concerns. However, according to the Global Peace Index, France (ranked 84th) is comparable in safety to Senegal (82nd). In terms of crime statistics, France has a higher murder rate at 1.1 per 100,000 people compared to Senegal's 0.3. Additionally, while France faces challenges with organized crime, Senegal also has significant issues, particularly in areas like drug trafficking and wildlife crime. Overall, while there are some safety concerns in France, it is not significantly more dangerous than Senegal, and tourists can take standard precautions to ensure their safety while visiting.
