According to safety rankings, France is 40th among 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night. In the Global Peace Index, France ranks 84th out of 160 countries, significantly lower than Qatar, which ranks 29th. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in France is 1.1 per 100,000 people, compared to Qatar's low rate of 0.3. Female murder rates are also higher in France (0.7) than in Qatar (0.5). The Global Organized Crime Index shows that Qatar generally fares better than France across various crime categories, with Qatar scoring lower (better) for mafia groups, crime networks, and human trafficking.
