France is a highly attractive destination for visitors from Panama, appealing to many due to its vibrant culture and diverse offerings. While 400,000 Panamanians travel abroad annually, a portion of them may be inclined to explore what France has to offer.
France is generally considered safe for tourists, including those from Panama. According to safety rankings, France is 40th among 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night, with no specific data available for Panama. The Global Peace Index ranks France 84th out of 160 countries, making it safer than Panama, which ranks 94th. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in France is significantly lower at 1.1 per 100,000 people compared to Panama's 12.7. Female murder rates also reflect this trend, with France at 0.7 and Panama at 2.0. The Global Organized Crime Index indicates that while both countries face organized crime issues, Panama generally has higher indices (indicating worse conditions) than France across various categories. For example, Panama scores 7.5 for mafia groups, while France scores 6.0. Overall, while no destination is without risk, France presents a safer environment for tourists compared to Panama based on these statistics.
