France is a highly appealing destination for many travelers, attracting millions annually due to its vibrant culture and diverse offerings. While it may attract a segment of Niger's population of 26 million, the overall interest among Nigeriens may vary.
France is generally considered safe for tourists, including those from Niger. According to the Global Peace Index, France ranks 84th out of 160 countries, which is significantly safer than Niger, which ranks 139th. In terms of murder rates, France has a rate of 1.1 per 100,000 people, compared to Niger's 4.4. While France ranks 40th among 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night, it still offers a safer environment overall compared to Niger. Additionally, crime indices indicate that while organized crime is present in both countries, France generally has lower scores in various crime categories, suggesting a more secure atmosphere for visitors. In summary, tourists from Niger can expect a relatively safe experience in France, though standard precautions should always be taken when traveling.
