France is a top global tourism destination, attracting millions of visitors annually due to its vibrant culture and diverse offerings. While it appeals to a significant portion of Malaysia's 34 million population, its attractiveness may vary among individuals.
France's safety for tourists from Malaysia can be assessed through various rankings and statistics. According to safety rankings, France is positioned 40th among 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night. In the Global Peace Index, France ranks 84th out of 160 countries, significantly lower than Malaysia, which ranks 10th. In terms of murder rates, Malaysia has a lower rate at 0.7 per 100,000 people compared to France's 1.1. For female murders, France reports 0.7, while data for Malaysia is not available. Evaluating organized crime, Malaysia generally scores better than France across various indices, such as mafia groups (4.5 for Malaysia vs. 6.0 for France) and crime networks (5.5 vs. 6.5). Overall, while France is a popular tourist destination, it is important for Malaysian tourists to remain vigilant, as safety indicators suggest that it may not be as safe as Malaysia.
