France is a highly attractive destination for visitors from Algeria, appealing to many due to its vibrant culture and diverse offerings. Each year, around 300,000 Algerians travel abroad, and a portion of them is likely to choose France as their travel destination.
France is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Algeria. It ranks 40th among 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night, indicating some concerns. However, according to the Global Peace Index, France is ranked 84th out of 160 countries, which is relatively close to Algeria's ranking of 88th. In terms of crime statistics, France has a lower murder rate at 1.1 per 100,000 people compared to Algeria's 1.6. Both countries have the same female murder rate of 0.7. Regarding organized crime, Algeria scores better in several categories, such as mafia groups and heroin trade, while France has higher scores in crime networks and foreign crime. Overall, while there are some differences in crime types, both countries have their own safety challenges, but France remains a popular and generally safe choice for tourists.
