France is a top global tourism destination, attracting millions of visitors annually. While it may appeal to a segment of the 1.2 million Czechs who travel abroad each year, its overall attractiveness for Czech visitors is notable but not dominant compared to other destinations.
France presents some safety concerns for tourists coming from Czechia. According to safety rankings, France is ranked 40th out of 40 countries for safety while walking alone at night, significantly lower than Czechia, which ranks 5th. In terms of the Global Peace Index, France ranks 84th out of 160 countries, compared to Czechia's 12th position. Murder rates also reflect this disparity, with Czechia having a murder rate of 0.4 per 100,000 people, while France's rate is 1.1. Female murder rates are similarly higher in France (0.7) than in Czechia (0.5). Regarding organized crime, Czechia generally fares better across various indices, with lower scores indicating a better situation. For instance, mafia groups are rated 3.0 in Czechia compared to 6.0 in France, and crime networks score 5.0 in Czechia versus 6.5 in France. Overall, while France is a popular tourist destination, visitors from Czechia should be aware of the relative safety challenges and take appropriate precautions.
