France is a premier global tourism destination, attracting millions of visitors annually. While it appeals to a variety of travelers, it holds particular interest for some Emirati visitors. With 6.3 million Emiratis traveling abroad each year, a portion may choose France as their destination.
France presents a moderate safety profile for tourists from the United Arab Emirates. It ranks 40th among 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night, and is 84th out of 160 countries on the Global Peace Index, which is lower than the UAE's 52nd position. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in France is 1.1 per 100,000 people, compared to the UAE's significantly lower rate of 0.5. Additionally, the Global Organized Crime Index indicates that France has higher indices for various crime categories, such as mafia groups (6.0 for France vs. 1.0 for the UAE) and foreign crime (7.0 for France vs. 6.0 for the UAE). Overall, while France is a popular tourist destination, visitors should remain aware of their surroundings and take standard safety precautions.
