Fiji is an appealing destination for some Chinese travelers due to its stunning natural beauty and rich culture. With 20.3 million Chinese tourists traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Fiji an attractive option for their travels.
Fiji is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from China. While crime exists, it is relatively low compared to many other countries. The murder rate in Fiji is 2.2 per 100,000 people, higher than China's rate of 0.5, but still within a manageable range for tourists. According to the Global Organized Crime Index, Fiji scores better in several categories, indicating a lower presence of organized crime compared to China. For instance, Fiji has a score of 1.0 for mafia groups, while China scores 7.0. Additionally, Fiji's score for state crime is 3.0, compared to China's 7.0, suggesting a more stable environment. Overall, while it's important for travelers to remain vigilant and take standard safety precautions, Fiji is a welcoming and relatively safe destination for tourists.
