Finland offers a unique blend of stunning landscapes and rich culture, making it an appealing destination for some Bulgarian travelers. Although there have been recent declines in tourist arrivals, the country's natural beauty and cultural offerings continue to attract interest. With 4.1 million Bulgarians traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Finland to be an intriguing option.
Finland is considered one of the safest countries in Europe for tourists, including those from Bulgaria. It ranks 8th out of 40 countries for safety while walking alone at night, significantly safer than Bulgaria, which ranks 21st. Additionally, Finland is ranked 13th out of 160 countries in the Global Peace Index, compared to Bulgaria's 26th position. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Finland is slightly higher than in Bulgaria, with 1.6 per 100,000 people in Finland compared to 1.3 in Bulgaria. However, various organized crime indices indicate that Finland generally has lower levels of organized crime and state crime compared to Bulgaria. Overall, tourists from Bulgaria can feel safe visiting Finland, given its high safety rankings and lower organized crime rates.
