Spain is a highly appealing destination for many Ukrainian travelers, thanks to its rich culture and stunning landscapes. As the third most visited country globally, it draws millions of tourists each year. With 11 million Ukrainians traveling abroad annually, a portion of them is likely to consider Spain for their travels.
Spain is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Ukraine. According to the Global Peace Index, Spain ranks 23rd out of 160 countries, indicating a relatively high level of safety, especially when compared to Ukraine, which ranks 156th. In terms of crime statistics, Spain has a significantly lower murder rate at 0.6 per 100,000 people, compared to Ukraine's 3.8. Female murder rates also reflect this trend, with Spain at 0.4 and Ukraine at 1.9. While both countries have similar scores for mafia and organized crime (6.0), Spain performs better in several areas, including state crime (5.0 for Spain vs. 8.0 for Ukraine) and resource crime (2.0 for Spain vs. 7.0 for Ukraine). Overall, while no destination is without risk, Spain offers a safer environment for tourists compared to Ukraine.
