Spain is an appealing destination for Thai visitors, thanks to its vibrant culture and stunning landscapes. As the third most visited country globally, it offers a unique mix of historical heritage and natural beauty. With 10.4 million Thais traveling abroad annually, a portion of them is likely to be drawn to Spain.
Spain is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Thailand. According to the Global Peace Index, Spain ranks 23rd out of 160 countries, indicating a relatively high level of safety compared to Thailand, which ranks 73rd. In terms of crime statistics, Spain has a significantly lower murder rate at 0.6 per 100,000 people, compared to Thailand's 4.9. Additionally, Spain's safety ranking for walking alone at night places it 22nd among 40 European countries, although specific data for Thailand is not available. While there are organized crime concerns in both countries, Spain's indices in the Global Organized Crime Index show it faces less severe issues in areas like human trafficking and resource crime compared to Thailand. Overall, tourists from Thailand can feel relatively secure while visiting Spain.
